The Department of Community Service and Awareness at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) had the honor on Friday, February 24, 2017, to support the Maronite League (ML), during its awareness campaign across academic institutions with a focus on the importance of engaging the youth in the public sector. NDU Community Service Officer Mr. Majed Bou Hadir welcomed the ML representatives:
- Dr. Maroun Serhal, Head of the Executive Council; and
- Mr. Youssef Ammar, Attorney and Council Member.
NDU Vice-President for Cultural Affairs and Communications Mr. Souheil Matar opened the floor to the speakers who highlighted the importance of the youth joining the public sector. Testimonies were given by both the Managing Director of the Lebanese Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) Mr. Akram Karam and by Chief of Cabinet at the National Social Security Fund (NSSF)Mr. Chawki Bou Nassif.
Also in attendance were representatives of the NDU Student Union and various NDU clubs whose members interacted with the guest speakers, expressing their concerns and inquiring about the topic. It is within the spirit of NDU that its students become leaders and role models wherever they may be, and especially in the public sector.
